Our work with Plastic Bank and our passion for sustainability

Sustainability is the buzzword every business in all industries is shouting about. However, now is the time to do so much more than just talk the talk. Wanting, aiming and hoping to be sustainable simply isn’t enough anymore. Now is the time for solid action and change to become sustainable today for a better tomorrow.


Plastic in our oceans is a huge problem, for everyone. Plastic pollution poses countless problems for our natural world. Microplastics look like plankton, which are food for a huge number of species. There could be more than 5 trillion pieces of plastic floating around the ocean right now. Over 800 coastal and marine species are affected by plastic through a variety of means. The ecosystem our world so desperately relies upon is impacted immensely because of our plastic waste. Ingestion, entanglement, suffocation and starvation of so many creatures are caused by plastic; something that could have been avoided if we as a global community were more careful and considerate in our approach to work, life and love of the planet.

In fact, the list goes on of the issues our oceans face from plastic pollution, and the more we research the effect plastic pollution is having on our planet, the more concerned we become. However, our research also leads us to be more passionate about the need for change and how we can turn things around in our industry. This is also the case for the businesses we partner with. Working amongst like-minded businesses that have solid, clear and honest goals towards sustainable working ensures we all benefit. After all, when we all work harder to do good for the planet, our businesses are able to perform at their best and grow consumer support beyond our products and services.


And so, at FRSH Scents® we wanted to not only make great products, but make a difference. We set up the FRSH Scents® Cents initiative to ensure our business was part of the solution, and not adding to the problem. We work hard on our partnership with The Plastic Bank and our offset program to ensure every product contributes to reducing waste and poverty. In fact, on average, every FRSH Scents® product pays for the equivalent of 3 plastic bottles to be collected and recycled. This means that our products are responsible for more plastic being reclaimed and recycled than we use. As such, we are incredibly proud that every single product in our FRSH Scents® range is Certified Plastic Neutral. Simply put, this means our products pay for the recovery and removal of more waste plastic from the environment than the plastic we use in producing them.


That is why we are so proud of our exclusive partnership with The Plastic Bank and happy to provide the first and only Certified Plastic Neutral air care products in the world.

However their work goes far beyond just removing and recycling plastic from our planet. By enabling the exchange of plastic for money, items or Blockchain secured digital tokens, The Plastic Bank empowers recycling ecosystems around the world and helps people living in poverty build better futures, with above-market rates for plastic waste incentivising collection. We absolutely love this initiative as it not only helps the ever-growing plastic pollution problem in our oceans, but also provides positive and impactful solutions for people living in poverty around the world in many communities that most need help.


As time goes on, we hope that as a business, we don’t rest on our current actions, as there is always more that can be done. Through our partnerships, product development and sustainable focus, we continue to try and make a positive impact.
